The Dr. Williams School Old Girls Association (DWSOGA) hired 9thwave to produce a website that would serve as an online archive of the history of the school.
We were asked to take their adventurous and interesting concept, and turn it into a fully functioning reality. We liked the idea and rose to the challenge.
The concept is for users to create an account and upload relevant content to the website in the form of stories, images or documents.
A custom MODX form was created so users could upload an item to one of the website galleries. They are then able to preview the item and choose whether top make changes or to publish the item to the website. This is sent to a member of the administration team to review and make live.
The website has been very well received and contributions have exceeded expectations.
This website has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and with help from MA Archive Administration students from the University of Aberystwyth and the Record Office in Dolgellau, the physical archive has been catalogued.
